八字与干支BaZi & Four Pillars Glossary
天干、地支、五行与十神，是读四柱命盘的基础。先辨认日主，再看其余干支与日主的关系。
甲木
Jia Wood · Jiǎ mù
甲位列十天干之首，属阳木。传统取象常用乔木、树干和向上生长来说明它；在干支规则中，它首先是一个有固定阴阳与五行属性的符号。
Jia is the Yang Wood Heavenly Stem. It is the Day Master only when it occupies the day-stem position in a Four Pillars chart.
乙木
Yi Wood · Yǐ mù
乙是十天干的第二位，属阴木。传统取象常用花草、藤蔓与枝叶，与甲木一起构成木的阴阳两面。
Yi is the Yin Wood Heavenly Stem. It is the Day Master only when it occupies the day-stem position in a Four Pillars chart.
丙火
Bing Fire · Bǐng huǒ
丙是第三个天干，属阳火。传统取象常借太阳、光照与明亮说明它；命盘中的丙仍须按所在柱位与其他干支的关系阅读。
Bing is the Yang Fire Heavenly Stem. It is the Day Master only when it occupies the day-stem position in a Four Pillars chart.
丁火
Ding Fire · Dīng huǒ
丁是第四个天干，属阴火。灯烛、炉火是常用取象，与丙火的阳火属性相对；这种象意与具体排盘关系是两个阅读层面。

戊土
Wu Earth · Wù tǔ
戊是第五个天干，属阳土。传统取象常用高厚的土地、山岗与堤岸；排盘时需继续看月令、通根和透出的其他天干。
Wu is the Yang Earth Heavenly Stem. It is the Day Master only when it occupies the day-stem position in a Four Pillars chart.
己土
Ji Earth · Jǐ tǔ
己是第六个天干，属阴土。田园、土壤和培植之地是常用取象，与戊土共同表示土的阴阳属性。
Ji is the Yin Earth Heavenly Stem. It is the Day Master only when it occupies the day-stem position in a Four Pillars chart.
庚金
Geng Metal · Gēng jīn
庚是第七个天干，属阳金。矿石、刀斧和金属器具常用于说明其传统象意；在十神判断中，仍以日主和庚之间的生克、阴阳为准。
Geng is the Yang Metal Heavenly Stem. It is the Day Master only when it occupies the day-stem position in a Four Pillars chart.
辛金
Xin Metal · Xīn jīn
辛是第八个天干，属阴金。珠玉、精细金属与经过琢磨的器物是常见取象；它与庚金的区别首先在阴阳属性。

壬水
Ren Water · Rén shuǐ
壬是第九个天干，属阳水。传统取象常以江河、流动的水体说明它；天干之间的关系还须与地支和季节一起观察。
Ren is the Yang Water Heavenly Stem. It is the Day Master only when it occupies the day-stem position in a Four Pillars chart.
癸水
Gui Water · Guǐ shuǐ
癸是第十个天干，属阴水。雨露、细流是常见取象，它也标志着十天干顺序的一轮结束，下一位重新回到甲。
Gui is the Yin Water Heavenly Stem. It is the Day Master only when it occupies the day-stem position in a Four Pillars chart.
八字
BaZi · Eight Characters · bā zì
八字由出生年、月、日、时的四组干支构成，共八个字。四柱分别为年柱、月柱、日柱、时柱；日柱的天干称为日主。
BaZi records the stem and branch of the birth year, month, day and hour. These four pairs form the Four Pillars.
天干
Heavenly Stems · tiān gān
天干依次为甲、乙、丙、丁、戊、己、庚、辛、壬、癸。阴阳交替排列，并分别配属木、火、土、金、水。
The ten Heavenly Stems alternate Yang and Yin and are assigned to Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
地支
Earthly Branches · dì zhī
地支依次为子、丑、寅、卯、辰、巳、午、未、申、酉、戌、亥，可用于纪年、纪月、纪日和纪时。
The twelve Earthly Branches form a repeating sequence used in year, month, day and hour designations.
日主
Day Master · rì zhǔ
日主是日柱的天干，也称日元。十神关系以日主为参照，比较其余天干与藏干的五行生克及阴阳。
The Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of the day pillar. It is the reference point for assigning the Ten Gods.
五行
Five Phases · wǔ xíng
五行指木、火、土、金、水。相生次序为木火土金水循环；相克关系为木克土、土克水、水克火、火克金、金克木。
The Five Phases are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Their generating and controlling cycles describe relationships between chart symbols.
阴阳
Yin and Yang · yīn yáng
阴阳是一组成对的分类。十天干中甲丙戊庚壬为阳，乙丁己辛癸为阴；十神的正偏等区别会用到这种阴阳对应。
Yin and Yang are paired classifications. In the stems, Jia, Bing, Wu, Geng and Ren are Yang; the other five are Yin.
十神
Ten Gods · shí shén
十神是以日主为参照建立的十类关系：比肩、劫财、食神、伤官、偏财、正财、七杀、正官、偏印、正印。
The Ten Gods classify other stems relative to the Day Master through phase relationships and polarity.
比肩
Companion · bǐ jiān
与日主五行相同、阴阳相同的干，称为比肩。例如甲日主遇甲。它属于比劫这一组关系。
A Companion has the same phase and polarity as the Day Master. Jia relative to Jia is an example.
劫财
Rob Wealth · jié cái
与日主五行相同、阴阳不同的干，称为劫财。例如甲日主遇乙。比肩与劫财合称比劫。
Rob Wealth shares the Day Master's phase but has the opposite polarity. Yi relative to Jia is an example.
食神
Eating God · shí shén
日主所生、与日主阴阳相同的干，称为食神。例如甲木生丙火，甲日主遇丙为食神。
The Eating God is the phase generated by the Day Master with matching polarity. Bing relative to Jia is an example.
伤官
Hurting Officer · shāng guān
日主所生、与日主阴阳不同的干，称为伤官。例如甲木生丁火，甲日主遇丁为伤官。
The Hurting Officer is the phase generated by the Day Master with opposite polarity. Ding relative to Jia is an example.
偏财
Indirect Wealth · piān cái
日主所克、与日主阴阳相同的干，称为偏财。例如甲木克戊土，甲日主遇戊为偏财。
Indirect Wealth is the phase controlled by the Day Master with matching polarity. Wu relative to Jia is an example.
正财
Direct Wealth · zhèng cái
日主所克、与日主阴阳不同的干，称为正财。例如甲木克己土，甲日主遇己为正财。
Direct Wealth is the phase controlled by the Day Master with opposite polarity. Ji relative to Jia is an example.
七杀
Seven Killings · qī shā
克制日主、与日主阴阳相同的干，称为七杀，也称偏官。例如庚金克甲木，甲日主遇庚为七杀。
Seven Killings controls the Day Master and shares its polarity. Geng relative to Jia is an example.
正官
Direct Officer · zhèng guān
克制日主、与日主阴阳不同的干，称为正官。例如辛金克甲木，甲日主遇辛为正官。
The Direct Officer controls the Day Master with opposite polarity. Xin relative to Jia is an example.
偏印
Indirect Resource · piān yìn
生助日主、与日主阴阳相同的干，称为偏印。例如壬水生甲木，甲日主遇壬为偏印。
Indirect Resource generates the Day Master and shares its polarity. Ren relative to Jia is an example.
正印
Direct Resource · zhèng yìn
生助日主、与日主阴阳不同的干，称为正印。例如癸水生甲木，甲日主遇癸为正印。
Direct Resource generates the Day Master with opposite polarity. Gui relative to Jia is an example.
藏干
Hidden Stems · cáng gān
藏干是地支内对应的天干。阅读时先分清明露的天干与支中所藏的干，再把藏干换成相对于日主的十神。
Hidden Stems are the stems associated with an Earthly Branch. Their Ten Gods are assigned relative to the Day Master.
月令
Month Command · yuè lìng
月令通常指月支所代表的季节位置，是讨论五行旺衰与取用时的重要条件。八字月柱按节令划分。
The Month Command is the seasonal reference represented by the month branch. BaZi months are divided by solar terms.
通根
Rooting · tōng gēn
通根讨论天干是否在地支藏干中获得同类根气。通根、透干与得令是不同信息，排盘时应分别查看。
Rooting concerns whether a stem has support among branch hidden stems. It is distinct from exposure and seasonal support.
透干
Exposed Stem · tòu gān
透干指支中所藏的干在天干位置出现。看透干时需要对应具体地支及其藏干，而不只看五行名称相同。
Exposure occurs when a hidden stem also appears among the visible stems of the chart.
旺衰
Strength and Seasonal Support · wàng shuāi
旺衰讨论日主或五行在月令、通根、生扶和克泄等条件下的状态。命书中的身强、身弱标签属于对这些条件的综合判断。
Strength assessment considers the season, roots, support, output and controlling relationships of the Day Master.
用神
Useful Element · yòng shén
八字用神是分析取用时选定的关键五行或十神。扶抑、调候、格局与病药各有观察目标，名称相同并不表示取法完全相同。
A Useful Element is selected within a particular BaZi analysis method. Balancing, seasonal adjustment and structural methods address different questions.
调候
Seasonal Adjustment · tiáo hòu
调候侧重寒暖燥湿及季节条件。它与扶抑强弱的侧重点不同，阅读用神时应先确认采用的是哪一种分析口径。
Seasonal adjustment focuses on temperature and dryness or moisture in the seasonal model of a chart.
格局
Chart Structure · gé jú
格局是对命盘关系结构的归类。阅读格局名称时，还需核对月令、透干及成格所需的配合条件。
Chart Structure names a configuration of relationships. Its interpretation depends on the seasonal reference and supporting conditions.
大运
Luck Pillar · dà yùn
大运是命盘外的分段时间层级，通常以十年为一段。起运年龄、顺逆方向和每段干支需与原局分开列示。
Luck Pillars are successive time periods, usually ten years each, layered on top of the natal chart.
流年
Annual Pillar · liú nián
流年是所查看年份的干支。它用于和原局、大运建立关系；本站相关排盘以所采用的换年规则确定年份边界。
The Annual Pillar is the stem-branch pair for the year being examined alongside the natal chart and Luck Pillars.
纳音
Na Yin · nà yīn
纳音是六十甲子干支组合对应的传统名称系统，例如海中金、炉中火。它与天干本身的五行属性属于不同的对应表。
Na Yin assigns traditional phase names to pairs in the sixty stem-branch cycle. It is separate from a stem's own phase.
神煞
Symbolic Stars · shén shà
神煞是按干支对应规则查出的传统标签。命盘按柱列出命中的名称，阅读时还要确认查询依据与本命、岁运的层级。
Symbolic Stars are labels obtained from stem-branch lookup rules, with separate natal and transit contexts.
合盘
Chart Compatibility · hé pán
合盘把两份命盘放在同一关系场景下对照。关系类型、日主、干支关系与各自的原局信息共同构成阅读背景。
Chart compatibility compares two charts within a chosen relationship context rather than merging them into one chart.
天乙贵人
Heavenly Nobleman · tiān yǐ guì rén
天乙贵人是传统神煞之一，按所采用的天干与地支对应规则查取。盘面中的名称需结合它落在哪一柱阅读。
The Heavenly Nobleman is a symbolic-star label located through stem-branch lookup rules.
文昌贵人
Academic Star · wén chāng guì rén
文昌贵人是常见神煞名称。八字中的文昌查法，与紫微斗数中的文昌星分属不同排盘体系。
The BaZi Academic Star is a symbolic-star rule and is distinct from the Wen Chang star in Zi Wei Dou Shu.
驿马
Travel Horse · yì mǎ
驿马是传统神煞中的迁动类名称，依据地支关系查取。盘面会显示命中驿马的柱位，供与原局和岁运一起查看。
The Travel Horse is a symbolic-star designation associated with movement themes in traditional chart reading.
桃花
Peach Blossom · táo huā
桃花又常称咸池，是传统神煞中的一类标签。查取时需分清采用的地支依据及出现的柱位。
Peach Blossom, also called Xian Chi, is a symbolic-star designation obtained from branch relationships.
华盖
Canopy Star · huá gài
华盖是传统神煞之一，常在技艺、专注与独处等象意中讨论。其盘面位置由相应的地支查表规则确定。
The Canopy Star is a traditional symbolic-star label often discussed through themes of focus and specialized pursuits.
子支
Zi Branch · Zǐ
子为十二地支的第1位，五行属水，对应生肖鼠。常用藏干表列为癸；在四柱中，地支可处于年、月、日、时四个位置。
The Zi Earthly Branch corresponds to the Rat in the Chinese zodiac. Its hidden stems are read separately from the visible pillar stem.
丑支
Chou Branch · Chǒu
